This year, we’re also introducing four extra, expanded sessions for food businesses, including sessions in our commercial kitchen and our Kitchen Launch program (a $200 value), culminating in a food safety manager ServSafe® exam.

  • Week 1 – 9/14: Foundation Building: Finding and Defining Your Business (entrepreneur mindset, SWOT analysis)

    Week 2 – 9/21: Business Model Canvas (one-page business planning tool)

    Week 3 – 9/28: Marketing Part 1 (traditional vs digital marketing & how they work together)

    • Food Businesses Only – 10/1: Food Product Packaging (ins & outs of retail & to-go food packaging)

  • Week 4 – 10/5: Marketing Part 2 (digital and social media marketing -how to create engaging, effective content)

    Week 5 – 10/13 (TUESDAY): Pricing Your Product/Service (deep dive into your numbers; sustainability)

    • Food Businesses Only – 10/15: ServSafe Exam (test to get Food Safety Manager Certified)

    Week 6 – 10/19: Business Entity (LLCs, tax implications, maintenance)

  • Week 7 – 10/26: Business Financials (budgeting, bookkeeping, reports) • Food Businesses Only – 10/29: Labeling a Food Product (requirements for labeling a product)

    Week 8 – 11/2: Scripting Your Brand & Proof of Concept (know your audience, test assumptions)

    Week 9 – 11/9: Branding Part 1 (what branding really means, how it builds trust, and how to start shaping yours)

    • Food Businesses Only – 11/12: Food Licensing (food licensing- meet the inspectors!)

  • Week 10 – 11/16: Branding Part 2 (key elements of a brand and how to tie them together in a clear identity)

    Week 11 – 11/23: Growth Strategy & Next Steps (goals, planning, & accountability)
