About the Broncos Lead Internship Program
These internship positions are part of the Broncos Lead Internship Program, providing funded internships at $17.50/hour for up to 20 hours per week over a 12-week period.
Eligible students must be:
Sophomore to senior-level WMU students in good academic standing.
Seeking hands-on, career-building experiences in their field.

About the Role: As a Content Creator & Content Manager Intern, you will collaborate with our Marketing Team to develop compelling visual and multimedia content that strengthens our brand and engages our community. This is an opportunity to apply your creative skills in a real-world setting, build a professional portfolio, and contribute to impactful marketing campaigns that support small businesses in Kalamazoo.
What You’ll Do:
Content Creation & Design – Design visually engaging graphics, social media content, website assets, and promotional materials that align with Can-Do Kalamazoo’s brand identity.
Brand Consistency – Ensure brand guidelines are met across all marketing materials and platforms.
Collaboration & Strategy – Participate in brainstorming sessions, contributing innovative ideas for marketing campaigns.
Campaign Support – Develop and schedule content for ongoing marketing initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field.
Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
Strong creative skills with attention to detail and brand storytelling experience.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
A passion for supporting small businesses and making a positive community impact.

About the Role: As a Digital Marketing Intern, you’ll help shape and implement digital strategies that amplify Can-Do Kalamazoo’s brand and mission. This role is perfect for students eager to gain hands-on experience in content marketing, social media strategy, and data-driven marketing initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
Social Media Management – Create and schedule social media content, engage with online communities, and track performance metrics.
Email Marketing – Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to drive engagement and promote key initiatives.
SEO & Website Optimization – Assist in website content updates, basic SEO tasks, and digital strategy improvements.
Data Analysis – Monitor campaign performance, track key metrics, and report on marketing efforts.
Content Strategy – Contribute ideas to enhance digital storytelling and community engagement.
What We’re Looking For:
Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
Familiarity with social media platforms, content creation tools, and basic marketing analytics.
Strong writing skills and an eye for engaging digital storytelling.
A proactive mindset with a passion for digital marketing trends.
Ability to work collaboratively and contribute creative ideas.

Internship Highlights:
Collaborate with the Operations and Marketing team to ensure proficient implementation of event and program planning for Can-Do Kalamazoo.
Gain hands-on experience in developing engaging events and community programming.
Assist with implementation of Can Do Camp and our Workshop series.
Work with CRM and Project Management software.
Assist with managing grants and the MEDC sub grant group activities.
Collaborate with community partners to provide resources to local entrepreneurs.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
Basic proficiency in Event planning, and Marketing a plus.
Strong creativity, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office, Google products, and cloud storage
Examples of Tasks:
Create a networking event for entrepreneur food businesses to allow them space to showcase their product in a restaurant style offering.
Collaborating with entrepreneurs to learn about their food businesses and gain their interest in being a vendor at an event.
Creating systems for food entrepreneurs to cater small events and work on scale.
Tracking business progress with our Business Program Manager.
